Weaver bird - Kenya
Inspection
I have wondered at the skill of the little weaver birds. They stitch their nests together with twigs and grasses, intricately weaving each blade then going to get the next one until their nest is complete! Such skill in such a tiny animal! Different species will have different nest shapes and can be found in trees or near water, some will even build enormous communal social nests that look like bales of hay thrown up into a tree!
This little weaver bird was inspecting his progress as he meticulously wove together his nest. Once complete, his mate will come and if she doesn't approve, she will snip it off at the base with her beak and he will have to start all over!
